stopping at the store,
back to the residence briefly with
Joe Leo,
then over Route 1 and down the Blue Route to
Baltimore
Pike,
Swarthmore
and
Morton Avenues, looking over old
Chambers
Memorial
Presbyterian
Church
(including
the
Sanctuary
and
Narthex's
views
all
around;
upstairs Kindergarten,
Youth Room, and
Nursery;
downstairs Primary,
Choir,
McCrone
Hall,
and
Kitchen; and midlevel
Office
and
Pastor's
Study / Fellowship Room)
and
George's
new
studio,
repleat
with
familiar
imagery.
A quest
for a
haircut at
the old place in Collingdale proves
futile, but more nostalgic luck is had in obtaining a cream-filled Dunkin Donut, passing
Anna's Steaks and Hoagies,
and
strolling
the
old
North
Lehigh
Circle
neighborhood
including --
the
storied
homestead,
all
the
neighbors,
the
Park,
and
Little Crum Creek.
Rendezvous'ing with George, Bette, and Ann -- we take in Lang
Music
Building
and
much
of
the
rest of
Swarthmore College,
head back for dinner (Italian sausage, chicken cordon bleu),
then back out again for what turns out to be a second repast at
Lamb Tavern as part of the
Springfield High School Class of '75
35th reunion.

Debbie Wei, and many other familiar, friendly folks -- wishing many more classmates had been able to attend, and saddened to note the passing of John Bloodwell, Diane Farrell (stunned, in this case, as this was new information a moi), and others.
