The Proposttion, XVII. Crazy, and XVIII. His Needs -- quite well received), and finishing up an excellent round three of student compositions. China Garden paper-grading lunch, then a return for Rock History from Roger Waters (b. 1943) to Gregg Allman (1947), beyond which lie two-weeks-from-now's endeavors (N.B. the Prince should read "Darling Nikki"... oh, well....)

November 12 - Whoo Hoo!

Begin editing Psalm 39b and receive stunning news on the email from Charles Hiroshi Garrett, Editor of The New Grove Dictionary of American Music, who is trying to track down the hard-working Phillip George, offers a commission to update the Philip Glass article for their Second Edition (somehow Edward Strickland is unavailable), and invites me to write new articles on subjects drawn from their "need-of-coverage" list. I suggest an array of 10, including one on Erling, and all are accepted. In our back-and-forth, Charles relates than a writer has been commissioned to do an article on me -- extremely pleasing news, indeed. Additionally, Erling plans to start a Wikipedia listing... also great to learn.



Flying high with Harriet, it's time to head to Lick-Wilmerding for the Job: A Masque revival dress-rehearsal will take place,



arriving as John Bilotta's Trifles is finishing up (only a sitzprobe, in their case -- cannot imagine)!

November 11 - Diablos and Musica

Finish editing part one of Psalm 39 (four pages total) and provisionally do a Garbage Band recording before sallying forth to bestow Quiz 13 upon the Theoreticians, with excerpts drawn from Philip Glass, Roger Waters, and John Williams.

Marin, paper-grading at Celia's and post-box greetings thereafter, arriving back in Fairfield a bit early



(so cool the heels at Blue Frog and actually catch-up totally with the Theory evaluations) for the Missouri Street Theatre's Sam Shepard True West callbacks, and it's a hotbed of activity, with



Harriet holding forth. Am relieved to see they have a competent Saul in the lineup, and hope for the best that I am not called upon, though will answer if Harriet and I are both asked to serve. Home eventually (the Mothers are dismissed relatively early) to do studio/movie video of



Cats, Dogs, and Divas: XXII. Love.

November 10 - Increasing

the Tesoro Refinery (a power outage required a poluting yet, from a distance,



picturesque burn-off). Rock History again makes its careful way, now from Jimi Hendrix (b. 1942) to Roger Waters ('43), looking ahead towards slightly later times.

November 8 - The Old One-Two

38 ("Domine ne in furore") in the lab, re-recording everything since switching to the new Encore (saving MIDI files in the old program, which contains less potential "over-riding" information). The lingering means that the heading home takes place c. 7pm through Fairfield, and cannot resist descending upon the



Missouri Street Theatre, where Harriet is auditioning for the part of the Mother in Sam Shepard's True West. I am prevailed upon by the director to audition as well, for the part of Sam Kimmer ("Mr. Kipper" "Kimmer"....), and an enjoyable experience indeed, having not auditioned for a part in non-operatic theatre for no doubt more than 30 years -- ambiguous about getting the role, however... awful lot of other things to be done in the next few months...
