November 18 - Limitless

Third page of Psalm 40 "I Waited Patiently" as the splendorous sky awaits, cruising amongst

the Lagoons down to DVC to bestow Quiz 14 and Final (but not the Final Exam, of course, which is in c. a month), with excerpts from Philip Glass and Sting -- a definite run for the money.... Then running for the money through

Franklyn

Canyon, and over to Marin for an efficient paper grading at Celia's and

postal run, and lo, there is some, rather a lot, really....

before returing to deep laid plans with Harriet and, indeed, the daily video.... as

For My Brother For My Brother: 6. Fellini.

November 14 - Concerted Efforts

Third page of Psalm 39b edited, heading out the door with Harriet

Sonomawise, for a brief walk on

Petaluma Hill Road, from

Roberts Ranch to

Railroad Avenue, via

Bud's,

with

views

all

around.

Back in the car, we dine at Fernando's and review

Marin Symphony with

Avram Dorman (write up at 21st-centurymusic.blogspot.com tomorrow, plus eventually at 21st-centurymusic.com and in print).

After that, do the video for Mice Suite No. 1: Worksong.

November 11 - Diablos and Musica

Finish editing part one of Psalm 39 (four pages total) and provisionally do a Garbage Band recording before sallying forth to bestow Quiz 13 upon the Theoreticians, with excerpts drawn from Philip Glass, Roger Waters, and John Williams.

Make the jump to

Marin, paper-grading at Celia's and post-box greetings thereafter, arriving back in Fairfield a bit early

(so cool the heels at Blue Frog and actually catch-up totally with the Theory evaluations) for the Missouri Street Theatre's Sam Shepard True West callbacks, and it's a hotbed of activity, with

Harriet holding forth. Am relieved to see they have a competent Saul in the lineup, and hope for the best that I am not called upon, though will answer if Harriet and I are both asked to serve. Home eventually (the Mothers are dismissed relatively early) to do studio/movie video of

Cats, Dogs, and Divas: XXII. Love.

November 4 - The Fabulous Country

Page 3 of Psalm 37 edits and Quiz 12 for the Theoreticians -- Voice Leading, with excerpts drawn from Paul McCartney, Leonard Bernstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Roger Waters, and Willie Dixon. Barrage through the backroads

and

thence

to

Marin's

Celia's

for paper grading (bit of catch-up, but still behind),

post-box with multiple greetings,

beyond

north

and

west

through

various

viewsheds,

picking (more gerundic constructions?) up the slack with studio-movie Cats, Dogs, and Divas videos of the evening (not) as

X. Shakespeare Is Such a Genius and

XI. A Father Can Be a Bother.

October 21 - And Zen What Happened

Edits for page 7 of Psalm 33, and some of The Beatles (a.k.a. The White Album) organized by composer on iTunes (it takes some Wikipedia'ing to sort it all out, including a fascinating account of the 1968 North Indian / Himalayan Foothills sojourn). Quiz 10 for the Theoreticians eventually, with examples drawn from the works of George Gershwin, Kurt Weill, Sergei Prokofiev, and Anton Webern (whoops, forgot to do 12-tone music -- oh well... next week...).

The jump to Marin is under uncertain skies, grading papers at Celia's, doing the requisite errands, and heading north somewhat

circuitously in slightly clearing conditions, to a serendipitous walk from

Petaluma Hill Road

to the

Roberts Road bend

(part of the cross-California endeavor,

now splitting the cismontane remainder to bits north

and

south of here), then another wander homeward, finishing up videos for

Deploration Passacaglias (Op. 43) as XXIII. Bernstein and beginning those for

History Phases (Op. 153) with I. Turkey - Epitaph of Seikilos.
