April 22 - Directed Learning
The morning St. Mary's run via
et al, for music from G.F. Handel to Giuseppe Verdi: video of the latter's Rigoletto: La donna'e mobile through the storm; former's Messiah: Hallelujah and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5: I -- both with scores, respectively piano-vocal and full -- then Quiz 2, Renaissance through Romantic, adding Josquin des Pres El Grillo.
Off to Diablo Valley for Quiz 12, Voice-Leading, with musical examples from Paul McCartney, Leonard Bernstein, Roger Waters, and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Marin is up next for
paper-grading (again, mostly A's and some B's for the Theoreticians) and
returning north via Mission
(a daily walk years ago while teaching at Marin Academy);
Laurel Place (of viewful first apartment and
imagined house notoriety);
Drive's views of
Ridge (what lies behind that freeway wall?);
the passes of
the ridges of
