September 6 - Relatively High
Up and out Marinwise to the
Mountain Home Inn --
via Miller,
Montford,
and the
Panoramic
Highway --
to meet Sorrel and Kaley for a scenic lunch (alas no Crystal and Kristina) and walk, the latter on the
Verna Dunshee,
at the
end
of
Pantoll,
with views south,
southeast
(below the Fire Lookout),
northeast,
north, and
northwest, ending at the restored
Gravity Car Barn -- a wonderful time!
On the way down,
we check in with the folks back east,
before
rolling back to
farewells.
Home via Sonoma, so cannot resist the notion of a second stroll,
this one on the cross-California Route, the first leg of
Pressley Road, past
hesitant and
inquisitive tamelife,
Barking Dog
Ranch,
and
Summit
Barn,
then down
into
the Matanzas Creek corridor,
intersecting yet again with
the county's
Mountain Road. The sun allows a passage back on
Trinity with views north to
Sugarloaf Ridge, following a descent towards
Napa, returning for more videos
(Interrupted Interludes: I. Spare Song and
IV. Child Song), editing (beginning Psalm 25), and 21st-Century Music work.
