Leaving campus for
Marin, paper grading at Celia's reveals stronger scores than last week,
with more financial greetings in the post box, before another Petaluma-area walk, now from
Old Adobe at Washington Boulevard, north to
Sonoma Mountain Road ("No. 1"), via
Bertolotti's
and
the
haysheds
of
Aztec
Dahlias,
with views
south to Mt. Burdell and
west across the plains and ridges.
Seems the right time as well to take a
drive up
today's hike terminous,
seredipitously able to assist a couple of young ladies in pushing their reverse-less vehicle uphill a bit (after their failed u-turn, attempting to go downslope), with the further assistance of others.
Beyond,
the sun sets

splendor and an unknown-at-the-time disaster: that smoky spot distant left center is the San Bruno natural gas explosion-fire.
From
here,
however,
peace
prevails up to the road's abrupt end.
