July 5 - Time for This One to Go Home

Up early to the gold-gray of a marine layer penetrating far inland, so, after a congenial breakfast with John,

blitz up

Cajon

Canyon

past

Mormon

Rocks

to

the

Mojave, and --

after a

petrol stop

in

Pearblossom --

Little Rock

and

Palmdale sail by until the

Western

Mojave

pinches

closed

with the

Liebres

to the

south

and

Tehachapis

northwest.

Connecting back to

I-5

south

of

Gorman,

it's up and down

Tejon Pass into

Frazier

Park

and

Lebec, through the

Castac Valley and then

farther down from the

Fort into the

Grapevine

and

the

Central

Valley.

Post-holiday traffic is heavy, such that a detour west to

Route 33's

oil rigs,

orchards,

crossroads,

prisons,

and

pyramids

almost

makes sense.

North,

west past the outer Diablo Range with the

Mount

shining brightly, there are two more pages of the Symphony No. 2: I (5-6) to do and the edits for Cats, Dogs, and Divas:

VII. Crazy and

VIII. His Needs before falling into a comatose state.
